What are unit studies?

 

In a nutshell, the unit study method or approach is to base studies around a theme and incorporate other subjects into the theme such as math, science, reading, grammar, history, etc. This method is used by many homeschoolers who teach multiple grade levels as all levels can study the same topic with activities suited to their levels.

Themes

TJ Unit Studies

We sometimes use unit studies in our homeschooling.  However, unlike some homeschoolers, we rarely spend more than a week on some topics because the interest tends to wane very quickly.

 

We vary the themes that we base our unit studies around from science, health, history to Quraan.

 

 

Below are just a few of the resources that I have used/compiled or made. There are many sites on the net with free premade unit studies, or activity suggestions based upon a theme.

52 Week Outline. Although not all resources on the 52 Week outline are unit studies, stop by here to find science and nature unit studies based upon themes found in the Quraan.
