Resources or Topic skeletons are great, but what about the meat?

I am in the process of adding links to the table which will lead to pages of activity ideas, ayaat/ahadith related to the topic and other resources to use. I have already made a lot of lessons, posters, books, etc here at Talibiddeen Jr. and so I plan, bi ithnillah, to link to those too. I try to list as many activity ideas as I can because I like to have an arsenal of ideas in case something flops or isn't available or whatever the case may be. We seldom do every activity listed.

Although primarily designed for Islamic Studies, I try to include related activities across the curriculum such as math, English (phonics, reading, etc), Arabic, etc. as much as possible.

A few more things............Miscellaneous notes on the subjects (aqeedah, adab, etc)

Aqeedah:

The basis for these topics are primarily: Usooluth Thalaatha (available for free from www.salafyink.com) , and Basic Fundamentals of Tawheed, Aqeedah & Fiqh (available for free from www.al-ibaanah.com under e-books). These tend to be more formal lessons for the older ones. I generally make up lessons/study guides for these. I generally assign a lesson each week and the older ones have until the next Aqeedah day to finish it (1 week). Of course we often fall behind on this.

Tawheed for Children, Part 2 by Dr. Saleh As Saleh. Ages 8-12.

Adab:

The basis for these are the Quraan and Ahadith. These days tend to be more informal and hands on. We may read a hadith or ayah and then role play to practice it. We try to remember all week to use/apply what was learned. Sometimes I may make a learning poster to make things more concrete for the younger ones.

Ibaadah/Fiqh:

These tend to be more formal as well. The basis for the prayer related topics is "The Prophet's Prayer Described" (see TJ's Prophet's Prayer Described page for the link to Fatwa Online's free electronic version) and Ahadith. Assignments are given and ideally should be finished by the next week.

Science/Nature:

As science seems to be so interesting to kids (animals, space, etc) I wanted to link these subjects to Islam. All topics, have at least one ayah or ahadith related to the topic and so we generally start off our sessions with the reading of the ayaat/ahadith. Sometime these are formal, sometimes informal. I sometimes make up units for these, or we just might explore the topic by simply reading about it. As some topics are more involved then others, we may start the topic on the Science day and then continue to read informally throughout that week.

People and Places:

Again, pretty informal, we may read about the people or places. My goal is to start notebooks for these separately and have pre-made fact sheets/forms where we list facts, draw pictures, etc. Reading may take place in the day or as a bedtime story. The older ones may read independently or I may read aloud to everyone.

Friday/Jumuah:

These are great days for quick review (Quraan/Islamic Studies). About once a month we read my It's Jumuah book and try to go over the Jumuah checklist each week. We also read from Suratul Kahf.

Ramadan/Hajj:

During these periods, we focus on observing/learning about ibaadah related to these periods . TJ Ramadan, a sister site, has daily learning activities for everyday of Ramadan. TJ Hajj has activities and links for hajj resources. We take a break from the outline during these periods and hop back on the 52 week outline when they're over.
