The Muslim Family | ||
"O you who believe! Ward off yourselves and your families against a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allâh, but do that which they are commanded. "

Daily Reminders/Reflection for a Muslim
This is a resource that I put together to help me reflect upon my day as well for reminders for the start of a new day.
It is kind of like a checklist with ayaat and ahadith to remind me about important acts of worship and the reason they are done.
This might also be idea for going over with older children on a regular, if not daily, basis.
And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. 31:14
And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him.
And that you be dutiful to your parents.
If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor shout at them but address them in terms of honor.

Child Raising Discipline — Problem Child Solved! by Kelly Nault (PDF)
When parenting gets rough, it’s very tempting to come down harder and harder each time your child misbehaves. Yet it is important, especially with problem children, to encourage your children in good behavior, not discourage them with constant nagging. A good balance of commonsense consequences and focusing on the benefits will yield wonderful rewards.
Behavior Strategies to Use at Home by Kelly Nault (PDF)
It's a fact: parenting is the most demanding job on earth! If you have ever thought about handing in your resignation letter after a particularly trying day with the kids, you're not alone. Fortunately, having effective behavior strategies to use at home can mean the difference between thriving in your job as parent or struggling through days and weeks of conflict, chaos and frustration.
How to Avoid Raising a Spoiled Brat by Kelly Nault (PDF)
Studies tell us that child behavior between 2 - 6 years of age impacts their future personality more than at any other stage. Talk about pressure for parents! A toddler’s increased mobility and expanding vocabulary mark the dawn of a new stage in life—one in which preschoolers want to explore more of their world, long to play with others, and look to experience greater independence from their parents. Although the preschool years can be exciting, they can also signal a time of many parenting challenges.
These challenges can leave a parent bewildered and frustrated, especially when deciding how to best deal with child behavior that includes: temper tantrums, toilet training, bossiness, hitting, and sibling rivalry. Parents who try to do a lot of things “right” when dealing with child behavior from 2 - 6 fall into a common parenting
trap, one that undermines all of their positive efforts to raise responsible, happy and compassionate children.
And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents.
His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship,
and his weaning is in two years
– give thanks to Me and to your parents. To Me is the final destination.
31:14

No mother shall be treated unfairly on account of her child, nor father on account of his child

Ibn 'Umar said,
"Allah has called them the 'dutiful' (al-Abrar)
because they are dutiful (birr) to their parents and children.
Just as you have a duty which you owe your parent,
so you have a duty which you owe your child."
